Kristen Lenth, soprano

Formerly an instructor of voice and chair of the music department at Caper College, in Casper, WY where she worked for nine years, Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in voice performance from Ithaca College and a master’s degree in voice performance from Indiana University. She also accomplished postgraduate study at the University of Northern Colorado in voice and operatic stage directing. Her extensive performance experience includes opera, musical theater, and choral music, as well as performing as a soloist in orchestral works and solo and chamber recitals. Favorite roles include Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Clorinda in La Cenerentola, The Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel, and Amy in Little Women (Adamo). Kristen is also a certified yoga instructor, offering classes in yoga for musicians, as well as Curvy Yoga and Yoga for All.

Kristen's students have attended prestigious institutions of higher education and competed in local, regional, and national voice competitions. Former students have gone on to performing careers in opera, theater, and television. Kristen has experience working with many different types of people, including students with physical impediments, learning disabilities, students on the autism spectrum, and students in gender transition. She works to develop a curriculum suited to each individual’s needs and learning style. A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), she has held leadership positions in MTNA.
